The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced that presenting applications for admission to the higher education institutions by Sudan Certificate students for the year 2008-2009 would start today and will continue till July 24.

This came in a statement issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research Saturday. The National Council for Higher Education has assigned 50% of seats in the universities in the states to the students of the state according to certain conditions. Six centres for submitting applications are opened in Khartoum State besides 20 centres in the states.

Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Prof. George Bureng affirmed in a press conference held at the Sudanese Media Centre Saturday to announce the policies of admission to the higher education institutions for the year 2008-2009 that all procedures for approval of the acts of the Universities of Boutana, Peace and Rumbeik have been completed.
