The political stability which the country is currently witnessing tempted leading Air Lines to promote their existing business facilities, in addition more new players emerged in the market to get their share in the ever growing sector of air transport. The economic boom and the changes in the life-style of the Sudanese people revive this sector beyond imagination.

 

Few decades back only expatriate and those who are schooling overseas or those who are going overseas for treatment can afford to fly frequently, of late several people can afford the luxury of going on vacation within Sudan or abroad, even those who are going for local tour prefers to fly  than travelling the old way by road.

The cost-effective fares offered by the airlines helped in boosting their business and assist citizen with reasonably priced means of travel.   

Most of the leading International Airlines are operating in Khartoum such as Emirates, Gulf Air, Qatar Airways, KLM, British Airway and Lufthansa, just to name a few, moreover their offices are located in the heart of Khartoum and most of them have multiple branch offices within the tripartite capital i.e. Khartoum, Khartoum North and Omdurman, in addition to branch offices or representative in major cities.

 

The stability attracted tourist to pour into the country from allover the world. Furthermore expatriates moving in and out of the country with their families and dashing executives who represent national and foreign companies to meet dead lines in ceaseless movement, all these factors led to the expansion of the air sector in the last decade.

The government with its flexible rules and regulation and the construction of new international airports at Khartoum, Port Sudan and Merowe and the rehabilitation of the old airports helps in attracting foreign investors. 

Khartoum is the next big thing in the region and will serve as vital link for Air Lines; it could be a final destination or junction for refueling and passengers. Khartoum airport is equipped with maintenance facilities and qualified manpower.

Sudan's national carrier Sudan Airways links Khartoum and several African and regional capitals, as well as with Sudan's domestic airports at Port Sudan, Nyala, El-Fashir, Malakal, Juba, Dongola, Wadi Halfa, Merowe and El-Obeid.
