The Sudan Boy Scouts Association is the national Scouting organization of Sudan. It was officially founded in 1935, and became a member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1956. The boys only Sudan Boy Scouts Association has 13,550 members as of 2004.

Scouting in Sudan was begun in 1916 in Atbara by Mr. Harry Jackson. Scouting followed in Khartoum in 1919 and Girl Guides in 1928. Scouting developed slowly in the years 1916 through 1935.

Sudanese Scouts are active in serving the community in leprosy projects, aids prevention, family planning, health awareness and many other projects in cooperation with other organizations such as the United Nations.

The outdoor life is one of the fundamental activities in Sudan. The country has many forests and jungles suitable for outdoor camping and hiking activities.

Program and sections

·        Cub Scouts-to 11 years

·        Boy Scouts-12 to 16 years

·        Rover Scouts-17 to 21 years

Scout mission:   

It is the mission of the Scout Association to develop good citizenship among boys/girls, forming their character, training them in habits of observation, obedience and self reliance, inculcating loyalty and thoughtfulness for others, teaching them those services useful to the country and skills useful to themselves.

The Scout Law:

Ø      A Scout is to be trusted.

Ø      A Scout is loyal.

Ø      A Scout is friendly and considerate.

Ø      A Scout belongs to the worldwide family of Scouts.

Ø      A Scout has courage in all difficulties.

Ø      A Scout makes good use of time and is careful of possessions and property.

Ø      A Scout has self-respect and respect for others.

Ø      A scout has respect to his parents.

Ø      A scout is frugal and has economical attitudes.

Ø      A scout has a good reputation wherever he goes.

Sudan has, The Sudanese Air Scout and Girl Guides both are a voluntary, non-political educational organization, open to all regardless of origin, race or creed, in accordance with the purpose, principles and methods conceived by the founder of the Scout Movement.

both are are active member of the national associations of the Boy Scout and the Girl Guides, registered members of the World Organization of the scout Movement (WOSM) and the World Association of the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).

The Sudanese Scouts Motto is "Be Prepared".
