Election commission: over 16 million people register for the election

The Policies committee in the General National Election Commission on Thursday was briefed on the efforts deployed at the stage of the registration for the election and the lessons to be derived from the experience. Professor Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah has pointed out following the meeting that the committee was also briefed on the good performance and the efforts exerted by the various parties in the process and which resulted in the registration of over 16 million persons as revealed by the statistics received by the commission from out and inside the country. He said the meeting also discussed the aspects related to the funds and the performance of the budget of the commission and the various expenditures during the registration period.
