SUNA- The Council of Arab Justice Ministers affirmed at the end of its extraordinary session held Sunday at the premises of the Arab League in Cairo under the chairmanship of the State of Kuwait with the participation of Justice Minister Abdul-Basit Sabdarat that the memorandum of the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) against the President of the Republic has no legal basis, rejecting whatever that targets sovereignty, unity and stability of Sudan or affects the international legal principles pertinent to the immunity of the President of the Republic.

The Arab ministers expressed their strong rejection to the double-standard criteria and any attempt to politicize the international justice. The Council of Arab Justice Ministers declared its support to the efforts of the Secretary General of the Arab League in coordinating stances between the Arab League, the African Union and the concerned regional and international organizations and conducting the necessary contacts with member states of the Security Council to stop the ICC procedures, calling on him to continue efforts to boost the national reconciliation and restore social peace in Darfur.
