SUNA- Chairman of the National Group for Human Rights, Ibrahim Abdul-Halim, has described the report which was presented lately in Geneva by the Rapporteur for Human Rights in Sudan, Sima Samar, as including much prejudice against Sudan and false claims.

At the regular press forum of Sudan News Agency (SUNA) Wednesday, Abdul-Halim said that a number of attempts were made in Geneva by European groups to exclude the Sudanese group from the participation, but the active participation of 36 members in the national group was able to abort these attempts and even to refute such allegations.

He indicated that most of the European countries and some African states have presented negative reports at Geneva meetings, describing these reports and that of Sima Samar as far away from the reality of the situation in Sudan and included much erroneous information. The Secretary General of the group, Mohamed Nahidh Salih, said at the news forum that the group has studied the report of Sima Samar and refuted her allegations, which came in the context of the hostile campaign against Sudan, and subsequently issued its statement that called for termination of Sima Samar's mission as the Rapporteur of Human Rights in Sudan.

He pointed out that the Sudanese National Group for Human Rights also rejected the allegations of the International Criminal Court (ICC), adding that the group's statement referred to the improvement achieved in the development and peace projects in Sudan. Deputy Chairman of the group, Mohamed Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir, said that the National Group for Human Rights was set up three years ago with the aim to confront the targeting against Sudan, adding that the group has worked out a comprehensive plan to carry out its tasks that included the participation at international forums.
