The Presidency meeting stresses on the coordination with South Africa and got a briefing on the road map for the borders demarcation

SUNA - The meeting of the Presidency of the Republic has stressed on the necessity of coordination with South Africa in all the regional and international forums for the realization of peace in Darfur and for staving off the allegations of the International Criminal Court.

The Presidency meeting, headed by the President of the Republic and attended by the First Vice President and the Vice President as well as the two State Ministers at the Presidency of the Republic, reviewed the outcome of the recent visit by the South African President Thabo Mbeki to the country and its achievements in pushing forwards in the bilateral relations between the various domains.

The meeting was also briefed on the road map for the demarcation of the borderline between the North and the South by the specialized technical committee according to the first of January 1956 with the view to complete the activities of the subcommittees related to maps and documents as well as the legal, technical and administrative framework in preparations for the demarcation of the borderlines on paper, its approval by the Presidency prior to application on the ground.

The State Minister at the Presidency, Luel Achuel, has pointed in a statement to the Sudan news Agency SUNA that there was a joint coordination to succeed the Darfur forum, which was incorporated in the Presidential Initiative (the Sudanese people initiative), and to stress the need for working on this direction following the Eid holiday.

He said the meeting also listened to a briefing on the achievements of the joint political executive committee which is headed by the Vice President of the Republic and the Vice President of the government of Southern Sudan and which included the performance of the offshoot committees relative to South Kordofan, the Blue Nile states and the elections, the Darfur peace building and unity and the party and the information and legal affairs, the national capital and the federal affairs in the south.

He pointed out that the meeting approved the work done so far and urge the subcommittees to work of achieving what remains of their assignments.
