Karti: All means of success towards reaching a durable solution to Darfur crisis are provided by the issuance of the resolution of the Arab Foreign Ministers

SUNA - The State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ali Karti, said Tuesday that all means of success towards reaching a durable solution to Darfur crisis are provided by the issuance of the resolution of the Arab Foreign Ministers of formation of an Arab committee under the chairmanship of Qatar to make arrangements for holding peace talks between the government and the rebel movements in Darfur.

The Minister told SUNA upon return from Cairo Tuesday, where he took part in the meeting of the Arab Foreign Ministers, that Sudan is sure of the good intention, calling on all to accept the resolution to save the country from dangers facing it.

Karti pointed out that it is noticeable that the Commissioner of Peace and Security of the African Union, Ramadan Al-Amamra, has participated in the meeting and presented a report on the latest developments in Darfur and the efforts of the Peace and Security Council of the African Union in this connection.

He indicated that another resolution was issued regarding the South, which welcomed the recent efforts exerted by the government regarding the implementation of the peace agreement in the South besides holding of an Arab investment forum regarding the South and the affected areas.
