Sudan presents a report to the African peace and Security Council on the peace process in Darfur

SUNA - The African Union Peace and Security Council will listen during its meeting which is set to convene on the 22nd of Sept, to a report on the efforts exerted by the Sudan for reinvigoration of the peace process in Darfur, and to stave off the allegations leveled by the prosecutor of the ICC against the Sudanese leadership.

Ambassador Akoi Bona Malwal, the Deputy of the Sudan Representative to the African Union has told the Sudan News Agency that the ministerial meeting which will be held on the margin of the UN General Assembly is to listen to a report by the Sudanese delegation about steps taken and measures implemented by the government of Sudan since the last meeting of the Council as well as the moves taken to resume talks with the armed movements in Darfur.

He said the report will also deal with the steps taken to try those who committed crimes in Darfur before Sudanese courts. He said the meeting will also listen to report on the situation in Somalia, Mauritania beside the Sudan.
