Taha express appreciation for the French concern with the developments in the Sudan and its keenness to have good relations with Khartoum

SUNA- The Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha on Tuesday expressed appreciation for the French concern with developments in the Sudan and France's keenness to have good relations between Khartoum and Paris.

The French Presidential Advisor for Africa, and Envoy of President Nicolas Sarkozy to the Sudan, M. Bruno Joubert, has reaffirmed during his meeting with the Vice President at the Republican Palace on Tuesday his country's keenness to establish good relations with the Sudan, boost the peace realization effort and stability in the region of Darfur.

Ambassador Abdul Basit Badawi al Sanousi, Director of American Department at the Ministry of foreign Affairs has pointed out in a statement to the Sudan News Agency that the meeting has reviewed issues of mutual interest and bilateral relations as well as the developments in the Sudanese arena and consultation on how to find a peaceful settlement for the question of Darfur and reaching a progress that would secure stability in the Sudan.

He said the French official also met separately with the Assistant to the President of the Republic Dr Nafie Ali Nafie and Dr Mustafa Osman Ismail the Advisor of the president of the Republic and Deng Alor the Minister for Foreign Affairs and that the meetings have reviewed the same issues tackled with the Vice President. He said the Envoy was carrying a message the content of which indicate that France wants to deal with the Sudan for reaching a progress forward. He said the Envoy meetings have also dealt with a number of issues including the ICC and the possible developments.
