Chinese Envoy: ICC prosecutor act would negatively affect the efforts for realizing peace and stability in Darfur

SUNA - The Chinese Envoy to Sudan, Liu Guijin, has pointed out that the act of the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) against Sudan would negatively affect the efforts for realizing peace and stability in Darfur.

The Chinese envoy said in a statement to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) after his meeting with Presidential Advisor Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail at his office at the Headquarters of the National Congress Saturday that the meeting tackled the relations between the two countries especially under the new challenges in the Sudanese arena concerning the allegations of the ICC, pointing out that agreement has been reached on coordination of efforts to face these challenges.

He pointed out that China is against any irresponsible act the negatively affects the process of finding a settlement to Darfur issue. Dr. Ismail, on his part, welcomed the Chinese envoy, pointing out that agreement was reached during the meeting on the importance of realizing security and stability in Darfur.

He pointed that the meeting tackled coordination between Sudan, China and the African Union and all countries that are keen on security and stability in Darfur for facing the foreign allegations at the Security Council and the other international forums.
