SUNA- President of the Republic and the General Commander of the Police Forces, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, attended Monday evening at Al-Mereikh Stadium, the graduation of more than 300 new police officers the 60th batch. The new officers were graduated at the Faculty of Police Sciences and Law in the National Ribat University.
The graduation ceremony was addressed by the Minister of Interior, Engineer Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, who stressed that the Police forces stand the first line in the defence of the homeland and facing the nation's enemies. He said that the graduated officers underwent three years of education in studies for keeping security and tranquility, combating crime and confronting the enemies.
He referred to the participation of the Police forces in repulsing the rebel attack on Omdurman in last May. The Minister of Interior said that the coming stage will witness more qualification of the police forces and inauguration of the new Police College in Soba area. The graduation ceremony was attended by the Minister at the Presidency of the Republic, Gen.
Bakri Hassan Salih, the Minister of Defence, Gen. Abdul-Rahim Mohamed Hussesin, Assistant of the President of the Republic, Dr. Nafie Ali Nafie, the State Minister at the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Ahmed Mohamed Haroun, the Director of the Security and Intelligence, Gen. Salah Abdalla, the Wali (governor) of the Blue Nile State, Malik Aggar, senior officers of the Police and the Armed Forces and the Military Attaches accredited to Sudan. MO/MO
