Special Representative of UN Secretary General Expresses Satisfaction over Abyei Agreement

SUNA - The special representative of the UN Secretary General to Sudan, Ashraf Qazi, has expressed satisfaction over the agreement signed between the National Congress and the Sudan People's Liberation Movement (SPLM) on the solution of Abyei issue.
 
Following a meeting with President of the Republic, Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir, at the Republican Palace Tuesday, Qazi said that he briefed the President on the UN mission activities in Sudan, asserting UN support to both parties of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) to complete implementation of the peace process. He added in statement to SUNA that the meeting reviewed the issues of development, rehabilitation and UN role in boosting peace process in Sudan.
