President Al-Bashir affirms Sudan's keenness on boosting relations with Britain

President of the Republic Field Marshal Omer Al-Bashir has affirmed Sudan's keenness on boosting relations with Britain and removing all impediments affecting these relations. This came in a message received by British Prime Minister Gordon Brown when he met at his residence in London Tuesday the visiting delegation of the Government of National Unity that comprises Presidential Adviser Dr. Mustafa Osman Ismail and Minister of Foreign Affairs Deng Alor. The British Prime Minister lauded the message of President Al-Bashir, affirming his desire to boost relations with Sudan and readiness to contribute to solution of Darfur issue. Sudan Ambassador to London Omer Mohamed Ahmed Sidik said in a statement to Sudan News Agency (SUNA) that the message of President Al-Bashir dealt with the progress of implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement and the government's efforts for solving Darfur problem. Meanwhile, the delegation of the Government of National Unity met with the British State Minister for Foreign Affairs and discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them further. Ambassador Sidik said the meeting discussed the support that can be extended by Britain to Sudan to solve its issues, adding that the delegation explained the complications of Darfur problem and the efforts being exerted for its solution. He said the Sudanese views have found great concern and understanding from the British side.
