UNSC to hold session Thursday on progress of implementation of CPA

SUNA/ The United Nations Security Council is to hold a session Thursday on the progress of implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA).
 
In this regard, Sudan's Ambassador to the United Nations Abdel-Mahmoud Abdel-Halim said in a statement to SUNA the Council will hear a report by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General to Sudan Ashraf Qazi, on the progress of implementation of the CPA. Ambassador Abdel-Halim explained that the report coincides with the annual one-year renewal of the mandate of the United Nations Mission in Sudan (UNMIS).
 
It is to be noted that the UN Security Council held session Tuesday on Darfur issue and heard a report by the joint UN-AU Special Representative Rodolphe Adada, on progress of the deployment of the hybrid operation and the progress of the peaceful process in Darfur.
