Khartoum, April 19 (SUNA) - United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon has welcomed the efforts of the Government of National Unity to press ahead with the process of the Population and Housing Census on the 22nd of current April. The UN Secretary General said in a press statement he issued Saturday that the census is considered the cornerstone in the process of implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA). Mr. Ki-moon expressed hope that the census operation would not face any delay as such delay would have great political and financial consequences. The UN Secretary General said in his statement, a copy of which was received by SUNA, that all the Sudanese people, supported by the international community, have spent great funds in this operation and they look forward for a full and sound census operation.
