The Vice President of the Republic reaffirms the government keenness to boost and encourage investment in the country

 The Vice President of the Republic, Ali Osman Mohamed Taha, on Monday stressed the government keenness to boost and encourage investment in the various economic and agricultural domains in the country. The Vice President made the remarks upon being briefed by the Deputy Head of the Kuwaiti Kharafi Group, Marzoug Nasser Al Kharafi, on their investment plans in the country.
 
The delegation called on the Vice President of the Republic in the presence of the Wali of Khartoum State, Dr Abdul-Haleem Ismail Al-Mutaafi. Kharafi has pointed out that his group is planning to implement a number of projects in the country including an agricultural project of 120 thousand fedans in the White Nile State, a sugar project and paper fabrics in the same state in addition to cement factory and a computers manufacturing project.

On the other hand the Vice President, Taha, was also briefed on the 8th Buga'a Arab African Festival which is set to be launched simultaneously as the International Theater Day on the 27th of current March. Professor Osman Jamal Aldeen, the head of the festival pointed out that a number of theatrical performances would be staged from the United Arab Emirates and from Uganda in addition to workshops that would be organized by the College for Music and Drama.

The Vice President has said an intellectual aspect should be added to the forums of the festival as it stands out as an international gathering. The Vice President noted that cultural performances from the Southern states should be part of the festivities as well.
